Looks like the government are running out of places to hide after last week's " plumber" scandal and now yesterday's huge revelations. Sanchez tried to apologise yesterday but it really looks like the end of the line for PSOE. PP are not wanting a vote of no confidence just yet but all rests on the ing parties like Sumar etc who simply can't be seen to corruption. One more leak and that's it I would say- then September election with high likelihood of PP getting in and the far right starting to influence Spain. And if expats simply say " doesn't affect me" they might be in for a big surprise - immigration is a popular target for the right in Europe. Many countries introducing changes.

It still might not happen, but largely I agree.

The writing has been on the wall for a long time.

I will be starting my application for citzenship ASAP because normally these processes are completed by applying the law in force when the process started. So even if the manifesto of Vox is party implemented in the future, we who are already here, can do something to try to avoid being quite so directy affected.

Watching the news and it doesn't look good. Sumar appear to waivering...no one wants to be ing a party that looks like it has higher level up to no good and frankly I am pretty upset. We all have to abide by so many financial laws and face constant fear of fines etc for just making honest mistakes. Meanwhile it appears that PSOE 3rd in command has been taking envelopes with 15.000euros etc!!! So I am all for an election this summer. I don't believe the right are any cleaner though but in a country where people earn around 1.200E a month and can no longer find homes something has got to be done. Two years of a Zombie government would be absolutely terrible. If Vox get some degree of power then that should wake people up- especially us foreigners who seem to regard Spain's affairs as irrelevant as long as it remains cheap.

You can't vote in national elections unless you are Spanish. That's a good reason to take nationality if/when you can.

As a resident you can only vote in local elections - & in EU elections if you have an EU port.

Well they could form an alliance with PP and that is likely given even on the most optimistic polls PP don't have enough to form a majority government. If that does happen VOX are not particularly partial to foreigners especially in places like Murcia where it is common to see graffiti saying Espana para los españoles. They certainly don't like the idea of certain places becoming over 50% foreign residents ( as then local councils can be run by foreigners) - so there could bring an anti foreigner approach to things as that is what their ers want.

Yeah but, the same folks, who probably built the houses for foreigners to buy and live in, now don't want the foreigners there. VOX ers are more likely to be from a lower educated, poorer socio-economic background, so they would have been the construction workers, bar and restaurant workers in these regions, which benefit from the boost to the economy of foreigners moving in. VOX smack of envy and hypocrisy!

If the leaks keep coming, an election seems almost unavoidable. And you’re right-expats might think it’s not their problem, but changes in immigration rules could hit everyone. It’ll be interesting (and a bit worrying) to see how the parties play their cards in the next few months.

If there is an early election ( one more accusation will do it) then the main election point will be housing. Sure, building homes is necessary but that takes time and money. The electorate will want something fast and wants someone to blame- no one is doubting that tourist housing is the most visible aspect of the problem and areas where massive developments for foreigners at prices the average Spanish can't afford will be a definite target. So anything that hits that will be popular despite the " hand that feeds" expats protestations.
