Bonjour à tous

I would like to understand the possibilities of receiving refunds after an online scam incident. It was an job website which offered me remote 'work' (no contracts) but after several transactions (virement instantanée) , I have realised it was only a scam. Lost 863 euros in the process. Went to police to lodge complaints which I have submitted to Credit Agricole and some other ing documents. It has been nearly 6 weeks now but haven't heard from my bank yet.

I would like to know what are the legal steps I can initiate in this case if my bank refuses to refund. Do not hesitate to ask for supplementary information if you need.

Cordially

As I understand it, banks have a legal duty to refund unauthorised payments where there has not been negligence by the customer, ie where their own security system has fallen down. Unfortunately it seems that you authorised these payments so I do not think the bank is legally obliged to bear the loss, it will depend on their own policy. You have done the correct thing and reported it, so hopefully the anti fraud investigations by the gendarmes and your bank will track the fraudsters down and recover your money. But it may take some time.

Never pay large sums of money to a site that promises to provide you with work, at best it's disreputable practice and you won't get value for money and at worst it's a total scam and you will get nothing.
